KarmaFX aims to produce inexpensive, easy-to-use, high quality audio plugins that meet the demands of professional
musicians as well as hobbyists.
Plugins that simply get the job done without too much knob tweaking, in order to
enhance the artistic creativity while improving the quality of the resulting audio and music.
Development of our award-winning modular synthesizer, KarmaFX Synth Modular, started as a hobby project back in 1998.
At that time it wasn't just a synth, but a standalone application for music-making.
It included a sequencer, a tracker, an effect rack, and - of course - a software synthesizer.
It was used to produce tracks as early as 1999.
KarmaFX Synth Modular was later converted into a VST.
A public beta was released in 2005, and finally version 1.0 for Windows was released as shareware in 2007.
Up until then KarmaFX focused on creating small, easy-to-use VST effect plugins for music production known
as the KarmaFX Plugin Pack. These popular plugins were, and still are, provided as donationware.
KarmaFX Synth Modular was ported and released as Audio Unit for Mac in 2010.
KarmaFX was founded in 1998 by Kasper Nielsen, and is located in Copenhagen, Denmark.
