New version needs Fixed Size Buffers now?????

Post by matthewjumpsoffbuildings »

Up until the newest version of the synth - in FL studio 6.08 - i never had the vst wrappers Fixed Size Buffers option on - but with the latest version i kept noticing these little glitchy noises after i released a note - especially if there was a delay effect used....

So i turned it on and now those little glitches arent happenin i dont think...

Any idea why/what/where/when/how?

no...and I even tested in FLS...didn't notice any glitches.
It has worked with variable buffers at least.. If it has stopped working I'll have to take a look at it again I guess...sorry

try using a preset with an adsr controlled amp (not just the "gate" option) which has a delay in it - when using it with variable buffers sometimes i would release a note and a little bzzzzzrrrttttt noise keeps going - sort of like a staticy buzz....i turned on fixed size buffers and it didnt glitch anymore....

does it only happen when pressing or releasing a key ?
if so I could suspect that this is due to the new "revert to last key" feature I made.... and then it's a bug !
I look into it tonight, and make a fix available soon if this is the case.

I experience the same problem (fuzzy noises). Using FLStudio 6.0.8 too.

To answer your question: Yes it only happen when releasing a key. When pressing a key again the noise stops until the key is released again.

Nevertheless, great synth!

looks like this bug was introduced due to the "Modules producing silence are now disabled internally to save CPU."-thingy...not quite sure why yet though....
