Re: Non-linear parameter value mapping request

Something like this?! https://karmafx.net/gifs/shaper.png I opted for using the existing ADSR style envelope editing UI (almost square like you suggested), with a Curve and Bias option. This means the ramp can have many control points, but also means that the output might alias. However, this is rar...

Re: On modulators output range

Yes, exactly. Try setting the ADSR in this mode: https://karmafx.net/gifs/ADSRCapture.PNG That is, bipolar off, inv on, out all the way down (negative), produces this output: https://karmafx.net/gifs/ADSRCapture2.PNG Hence it is not bipolar, but it does produce the wanted envelope, no? Re: On HFO range

Yes, I think the FM synthesis part is in need of some work. As you probably know, aliasing is a real pain with FM, so simply upping the range is problematic, unless of course you are into the aliasing "sound", as the FM overtones or sidebands then quickly reach the nyquist limit. Now, since the synt...

Re: On modulators output range

Ah. I see (maybe).
EDIT: So can the "invert" option not fix this issue?
i.e. that should flip the envelope, so it is centered in "off" state ?
Or perhaps I'm misunderstanding.

Re: On modulators output range

I think the main reason for this decision is more historical, and because it made sense for amp envelopes. However, you can easily invert it by turning the out slider on the ADSR (or any modulator for that matter) all the way down, and that will switch the ADSR to run in unipolar 0..1 range. Not sur...

Re: On HFO range

BTW: Also, while I see why you would want to use the HFO for making a kick drum, an alternative way is to use a regular Osc1, set to Sine, and then modulate its frequency using an envelope. The Osc should not have the same issue with low frequencies as the HFO. All the kicks in the psy-kick bank for...

Re: On HFO range

Hi Ortseam, Because the HFO is high frequency, it has some built-in antialiasing. Unfortunatly, this has some problems in the low frequency area, mainly due to precision. I think that might be what you are seing in the plot. Also, for this reason I upped the precision in 1.20: Bugfix: Internal Osc u...

Thanks so much Ortseam! Some good points indeed. "polarity" was just meant to be a smooth inverter knob. So basically amplify by -1 to 1. But I agree with your comments. It might make more sense with a pre/post amplifier settings too, like the fruity one. I'll think about the square UI thing. It cou...

ok. So how do you imagine the editing?
Should the curve be edited via control points (like envelope) or free drawing (like additive)?

I could add a HQ option for oversampled output, with a built-in LP filter. But I still imagine aliasing would be a real pain for audio input.

Just thought I should add that the drawing could also be sort of like the one in the "additive" module. That is completely free.
I think something like this split into partials would be needed to make it antialiased anyway.

Weird, disabling UAC should do it, but if your vst install folder is inside a "Program Files" path, please try to install the synth into a different folder you create, that isn't protected by the OS.

Hi Ballacr!
Yes, if you delete the index.txt file, the synth will autogenerate it!

However, the patch numbers in the filenames need to be there, so
it's more like your name/order your patches in the directory, and have the synth recreate the index file.
