Re: Non-linear parameter value mapping request
Hi! Sorry for my slowpock reaction! There were no news from you for a long time and my checking of this topic became more rare. I'm so glad to know you're continuing your work on Karma! And my answer is YES! that's really what I expected to see. P.S. As to aliasing, I think it could be a nice option...

Re: On HFO range
Of course I know that extrawide spectrum (which is easily reached by strong FM modulation) causes strong aliasing problems. The idea of initially oversampled signals used for FM with following downsampling seems nice to me. But, as I can understand, this should be rather CPU-hungry. So maybe there w...

Re: On modulators output range
Yes! ADSR does produce the wanted envelope under these settings! Sorry for me being a slowpoke  Thanks for your patience! The same thing to MIdiTrig - it works nice! The only remaining wish of mine now is to have 'INV' checkbox also for MidiData module to have a possibility to setup it the sam...

Re: On modulators output range
Mmmm... perhaps I'm misunderstanding too :) but... let me propose you one example: if you use Envelope modulator in bipolar mode there's a possibility to set it the way when it's 'idle point' is zero and maximum point is '1'. https://c.radikal.ru/c29/1903/1d/1378658bc515.jpg that's exactly what is n...

Re: On HFO range
Thank you so much for your explanation and pointing me at some important aspects! Yes, regular Osc1 works nice (BTW the kick I used in the song that I showed to you is made just that way too). Recently I've tried to modulate the phase of Additive with HFO and it worked nice. The only point is that t...

Re: On modulators output range
No it doesn't unfortunately (( The problem is that when you sum (or multiply and then sum) some different modulation sources it's strongly desired that in their "initial state" these sources don't affect the resulting sum. So when you attach say new inactive (not triggered) ASDR to "s...

On modulators output range
Hello! My next question is about the modulation modules range. As I could see, each modulation module in Karma has two output modes: unipolar with output range [-1;0] and bipolar with output range [-1;+1]. While bipolar mode range is obvious and causes no questions the range of unipolar mode seems u...

Re: On HFO range
Thank you so much! I love Karma and so happy to hear it's getting even more beautiful! :) This bug presents at any HFO mode and type of connection (as far as I could see). BTW at left knob's left position the module screen shows "Rate: 0.26 Hz" but actually it's 44 Hz By the way, is it rig...

On HFO range
Hello! As I use Karma more and more, some new questions appear. While playing with HFO I noticed that it's real range is 44Hz ... 16 kHz, while the Manual in HFO parameter table says: "Rate (0.26Hz-16kHz)". Which of two is wrong? (or maybe of three, taking me into account :) - maybe I do s...

Thank you very much!
I wish you good luck and inspiration!
Looking forward for any little result.
Feel free to ask me any question if you think it helps.

Re: Strange portamento behaviour
That's so nice that my report helped! you did not encounter this issue in poly(phonic) modes, right? I've never used portamento at poly mode, but I'll try today :) UPD: tried it. Though I don't understand completely the logic of portamento behaviour in poly mode, I can safely say that there's no ton...

Re: Strange portamento behaviour
Seems it's a global portamento problem. It's present an mono and legato modes, fixed and auto, linear and range-scaled.

Re: Non-linear parameter value mapping request
Looks almost like what I'd like it to be :) But there are some questions/notations, if you don't mind: 1. What is the sense of 'polarity' knob? What will it do? 2. Seems that 'slope' knob should be strongly revised or changed. Look at this image: https://d.radikal.ru/d11/1901/e5/075050c7401dt.jpg pi...

Re: Non-linear parameter value mapping request
Hello! Thank you for the feedback! You're right. In most cases the aliasing won't be a problem if mapping module is used only for modulation "wires". Though it would be so tempting to have 'universal' HF/LF module like it could be in real analog world, I understand the difficulties and acc...

Re: Non-linear parameter value mapping request
And one more consideration on universal nonlinear audio/modulation module. (Sorry for my saga-size posts, but I try to be exact and complete). As I think, KarmsFX has a great potential not only as modular synthesizer but as modular SFX plugin also. It's set of "elementary bricks" is enough...

Re: Non-linear parameter value mapping request
Yes, you understood me correctly. The variety of modulation signals that may need nonlinear mapping is almost countless of course and I can't forsee all specific cases. But I'll try :) So about the sources... 1. External sources: velocity|key number|controller value|pitchbend value|aftertouch value....

Strange portamento behaviour
This picture shows pressed MIDI keys and Karma's OSC frequency graph sharing the same time scale. At the left side of the picture the one can see nice analog-like curve which you could expect from a real synth. If there's enough tіme for frequency to reach the new note value it behaves absolutely ok...

Re: Non-linear parameter value mapping request
If I should choose only one of two, I'd have chosen control points (like envelope). Honestly I can hardly imagine what need should make free drawing necessary :) As to aliasing... Yes. It's a global digital processing pain... I guess, good understanding of this point upon your work on KarmaFX was no...

Re: Non
Think with nice oversampling algorithm there will not be need to spline the curve necessarily. The first LP filter at oversampled processing algorithm will do the same thing.

Re: Non
Thank you so much for fast reply! Yes the question of what drawing process should be like is important. On the one hand it would be nice to simply draw any curve you like. On the other hand the possibility of making exact geometry is also needed (e.g, two straight lines going from [0;0] point are ne...

Non-linear parameter value mapping request
Hello! First of all I'd like to thank the developer for this brilliant piece of software. There are few VSTi-s out there which are truly modular. And only few of them sound really good (e.g. MUX modular has perfect routing and regrettably poor sound). With KarmaFX I'm really impressed with the sound...
