karmafx v1.02 all instrus, no external fx

http://fwsnet.net/mp3/gonzo-angel.mp3
after the main theme is over and the song kinda moves on to ending
you can hear a niiiiiiiiice sounding instrument
its a karmafx synth

that does sound good 8) 8) :D :D

I just made a remix of an ayumi hamasaki song
beforehand, sorry it turned out so bad
the good part is actually the lead, which is a karmafx synth ;)
its a glided supersaw, hardtrance style.. not sure if it fits, but it sounds nice :P
http://fwsnet.net/mp3/ayumitrance_2.mp3
its not done though, i like it, so i might finish it
the sublead (the padish vocals) is me trying to make vocals with karmafx synth
didnt turn out so good, but i think the problem is that i wanted it to play every damn note.. so it became a mess
any thoughts?

edit: one thing id want for the synth:
lfo's dont have an offset value (it should range from -1 to 1)

Posted: 08 Jun 2008 10:21
by karmafx
sure it does.
the offset is the "phase" in the lfo. :)

karmafx wrote:sure it does.

no, a global offset
like +0.5 so that the value can never go below 0.0 or <x>
(if i decrease amplitude i will just get closer to 0.0)

Posted: 08 Jun 2008 10:47
by karmafx
ok. I see what you mean. :?

If you just want it to go from 0 to 1 instead of -1 to 1 switch off bipolar and use the "out" slider to control the scale (from -1 to 1).

Now a real offset it a another thing: The easiest way to do this currently is probably to hook up a "MidiData" module to the same knob as the lfo is hooked up to (they are added). Set the "type" to "manual". Value will now control the offset.

Hope this helps :)

sounds really great imo! 8)

Made another, this time only karmafx
Lead, bass and arp-pad :)
http://fwsnet.net/mp3/yesyes_5.mp3
took me awhile to make.. had problems with the pad
i never were any good at pads anyways, so i scrapped the pad
the song sounds boring now.. i just couldnt make a good pad
(and the pads that come with just dont fit in, tbh)

in the future i will make other kinds of leads
and maybe attempt some pads.. i need to get a clue as to how :P

beatuful !!! Thanks man! 8) 8)
looking forward to your bank of patches already  :D

I'm no pad expert, but I would think those are pretty easy to make: Long attack and long release. For slow evolving pads, you might want to check out the "pad module" if you feel uninspired (and have a dual core machine ) ...

Posted: 11 Jun 2008 23:29
by MadGonzo
hehe i know how to make a pad sound, in that sense
(not necessarily long attack, i hate that all pads have that.. but its easily tweakable so nothing big)
but it has to sound good and also fit into the song youre making
and ill definitely check out the pad mod

fantastic, MadGonzo !! 8) very happy tune :D :D :D

tried to make classic supersaw
first the low poly version
then other half a high poly + more phasing
i also made a horn as pad :P sounds nice, just doesnt fit well in this song

http://fwsnet.net/mp3/karmafall.mp3
needs more EQ'ing i think... sounds extremely noisy atm
btw the original song is flutlicht-thefall, and sounds ok, noisy too :P

Posted: 13 Jun 2008 23:35
by karmafx
man....you are good ! 8) :D
curious, is the reason for the dirty sound/noisy, distortion?
btw. what are you using for drums? sampler module or programmed sounds ?

Posted: 13 Jun 2008 23:40
by MadGonzo
everything is always hand-made
sure, presets can be good, but if you cant make your own shit then what?
i spend MORE time on the beat usually than the overall sound :P
no distortion.. the problem is probably heavy unison + low feedback phasing
it doesnt matter though, i think the sound is ok
horn was a surprise, but it doesnt really fit in :P might have to detune it.. haha

you did better than me

http://fwsnet.net/mp3/karmafall_2.mp3
ok good news:
all karma, two basses, roll and normal attack sinesaw bass
low poly lead, high poly lead and high peak leads :)
the same old horn thingie
some fx, mostly karmafx except sidechain compressor :)

all in all i dont like the overall sound but i should be able to EQ it to my liking
a little loud and rough on the edges, but its still a decent tune... i think :P

Posted: 14 Jun 2008 22:16
by Argitoth
is the hat and snare from karmafx?

btw the music seems to cut off

Posted: 14 Jun 2008 22:23
by MadGonzo
no percussion is from karmafx.. i wouldnt know how either way :P
i also remade the bass and eq'd it just a little
http://fwsnet.net/mp3/karmafall_2.mp3
i think the biggest issue now is the perc seems high cutoff
definitely sounds wierd
gah i give up this song... turned out shit :(

edit: the problem was the sidechain compressor
wont fix it because its either bad sound or better perc

Posted: 29 Jun 2008 21:20
by MadGonzo
that time again, this time a 100% uk hardtrance supersaw
http://commandante.fwsnet.net/supersaw.mp3
edit: since im unstoppable, i just made it into a song... *sigh*

its not perfect filtering, but what the hell
the instrument can be stronger if you add more voices too

by MadGonzo
http://fwsnet.net/mp3/basicdawn_7.mp3
ok there it is, 95% done
overall it doesnt really flow well, has some unproffesional parts
and is drowned in sidechained compression :)
will fix it in the looooooong run
whats more important is, its 100% karmafx.. all of it, except beat and fx

EDIT: updated it, i suppose its completed now
fixed up beat a little and rendered with synth 1.03

very nice stuff....lots of cool patches ! 8) 8) 8)

While the track seems more finished, I somehow liked the basicdawn_5 version you sent me better...The leads seemed clearer and the choir was more subtle...not that it matters much  , just giving you some feedback :) and the new one has a very cool lead near the end !

big sound system version
heavy sidechain compression on main part

Posted: 17 Jul 2008 00:58
by karmafx
massive sound !! and well produced too. 8) 8)
but what is that low freq clicking in the beginning and end?

Posted: 17 Jul 2008 01:21
by MadGonzo
Idon't know.. probably a side effect of me trying to remove the ground tone
i just want the portamento so
but i think there are some problems with ADSR modules on the VST
getting rid of clicking isn't always easy
ill post something once i know when and where it happens

http://commandante.fwsnet.net/stillalive_2.mp3
so, i played portal, and i loved the ending theme
remixed it, though incomplete, ie. the first lead should be replaced
this is my version

Posted: 25 Jul 2008 23:51
by karmafx
didn't play portal...but that is one happy tune :D

sounds nice!....I really dig the bass. 8)

great stuff, as usual, MadG.

in my humble opinion the bass needs to be heard more in those clips,
but the leads and atmosphere is certainly spot on
8) 8) 8)

please let me know when you update the bank ! :D

It is really amazing songs lyrics how many requests we receive help to find results. It takes time for research, I thought exactly the process to go through to find the partitions on the same Internet. Otherwise better you can try 8notes this service provides its piano sheet music. You can then use these tips on your own.
