Sync in LFO Modulator ?

Post by JamminFool »

hi,

1) using v0.90.

2) host=energyXT.

3) the sync in the LFO does not appear to follow the host tempo

4) set the sync option ON and vary the tempo in eXT. the LFO rate does not change from that set via the Rate knob.

am i missing something (probably)?

thanks.

edit: actually, the rate does change when sync is engaged, but does not seem to update when the host tempo is changed...

is this correct behaviour?

Hey Jammin!

Many thanks for the info!

Actually I think it actually does work as intended, but it might not be
so obvious.
The thing is that when the LFO is in sync mode, it snaps to the *nearest* frequency that syncs to quarter beats.
This means that the rate will not neccesarily rise when you increase the bpm in the host, but may snap to a lower or higher frequency depending on your bpm selection.

Let me know if this makes sense and works for you ?

ahhh...i see.

classify this under: Operator Failure.

and thanks for the clarification.

btw: my apologies in advance for what is likely to be a sequence of these sorts of inquiries (most of which may simply be the need for clarification).

Ah, I understand this now. Thanks for the explanation Kasper, and thanks for asking the question Jammin.

Tested the LFO sync (square wave to patch volume control against the metronome in the host) and it definitely syncs up and stays in sync every time the host transport is started. It does go out of sync when you [xx]crease BPM as you said.
