Bitcrushing is a fairly good (modern?) method of making simple instrument more alive.. something like that
is that related to the bitshifter? or is it something completely different?
if its a viable addition to the synth you could add it (ive run out of things to complain on)
maybe try a test build with hardcoded bitcrushing that adds this somewhere reasonable along the chain
If so, it is supported in the distortion module and in the bitshuffler module. It simply converts the signal into a representation with the specified number of bits which can make sounds sound harsh and overly digital.
