Bug: Unison?
Bug: Unison?
http://commandante.fwsnet.net/underwip
cascada thingie made as example for bug
1. listen to the first "lead', the unison is phasing, and shouldnt be
2. the song sounds ok if i loop it or change unsion in "realtime"
rendering, of course, sounds like this, so it needs a fix
the second instru is z3ta.. classic hard dance bullshit
edit: changing detune value fixes it

yes.. when trigger is enabled phase is always reset when a note is triggered, even in unison mode. This means that the voices will run in sync on the first sample and then drift out of phase due to the detune.
Now, in non-trigger mode, but when the song starts, all modules are reset, so phase is reset too. But it should be reset to a random value, not zero. Otherwise you will hear it in sync on the first note, which I guess is what you mean?!
This was a problem before with Osc 1/2 and was fixed. I guess I just forgot to fix the additive too, but I'll have to look into it.
You can try to use Osc 1 instead of Additive and see if the problem persists.

you could add a synch option
i favor options and not a fix that sets a -> b
ive noticed other peculiarities, but im afraid if i tell you about them youll fix it
nah, but i have made some nice sounding instrus with what might be a fault
i just cant remember atm what it was
so whats new on the additive synth?
are you going to allow listing & loading of waveforms?
im not talking about samples here.. samples are long wav files
wav files so short they hardly have minimum content, and i have lots
otherwise drawing splines would make me happier, since i know what the waveshape looks like
i also would like inversion of wave and small things like a self-synch knob
but better waveform creation must be numero uno prioritae

first, please tell me why you cannot use the import feature?are you going to allow listing & loading of waveforms

well. better drawing is a good idea !otherwise drawing splines would make me happier, since i know what the waveshape looks like ...
theres an import feature in the additive synth? ive yet to find it
in samples if i load a waveform it wont work, because its.. not a sample :/
i just couldnt get it to work
i can get my "synths" to work, but they are just bullshit synth samples
i want an EXACT method of getting a REAL waveshape
theres only two ways, a better shape editor, or importing waveshapes
or... algebraic (before christ) / algorithmical (after christ) generation
theres a right click menu? you gotta be joking :@
let me check this out and disregard 95% of my posts on this forum temporarily

finally!
its refreshing to get new sound

reinstrumentalized freestyler from bomfunk guys many years ago
yes you have my vote for presidency
i still want the bezier tool

ok i found you have a waves folder
i had to reinit the synth to update the list with wav files
but none of them works, instead if you import them they will work
that has to be fixed
and the list should be updated somehow without having to reinit it
the URL should have been http://commandante.fwsnet.net/freestyler.mp3

I'm not going to change anything in the synth that will change the sound of existing patches, _unless_ of course it is an obvious bug (like the unison thing you found). So don't be afraid. All fixes are good
alright i will keep that in mind
ok lets see
in unison you sometimes have 4 options that radically changes the sound:
1. voices, the core of this feature
2. detune/fat (i believe the two are different algorithms for the same feature)
3. age, im not sure what this really does, but its probably a decay
also the amp should have drive
i have no idea how drive works, but its alpha and omega for some instruments (ie. on Vanguard)

I tried to make a wave gen (a 25% clone of main generator with higher octave) bind to something already binded ie. a filter and an amp, but it didnt work..
it worked when i binded it to a unison mod
(not really a complaint just seamt wierd)
also: it would be nice if the additive synth could remember which folder you last imported from!
and dont forget the "wav list" is bugged, i HAVE to import them to make them work
