Hi flos! Glad to see you're still here !! :D

One way to quickly browse through a folder of waveforms, is to open the folder in explorer and then simply drag and drop waveforms to the additive module. It might not be the browse feature you're looking for, but it is the same as using import, just a bit faster.

btw: I'm planning on adding the bank you've made to the patch bank page. Hope that is ok with you !?!? Also, if you have an updated bank, please send it to me. :)

Hi Kasper! Yes, I'm still here. ;)
You can do what you prefer with my bank, I'd love to expand it in the future but I'm too lazy in this period...
Pay attention that I made some minor updates to it, nothing of bombastic, the last version is still at:

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/7/11/ ... s_bank.rar

The patches that you included in the synth distribution are a bit outdated so always refer to the previous link. ;)

The good new is that I'm writing a little introduction to your synth, just to open my new blog.... I will keep you informed if you're interested.

Flos, if you were to describe your bank in a couple of sentences, what would they be ?

btw: if you should feel like it, you're welcome to make a short demo mp3 (like MadGonzo did) that shows off some sounds from the bank.

Thanks!

Here you will find powerful basses, lush pads and nice effects... no samples used! I think you'll like it.

Here's the bank:

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/7/11/ ... s_bank.rar

Demo # 1 ("Vintage Reminiscence" - Genre: Electronica/Ambient):

bass, FX, voice, pad by KarmaFX Synth.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/7/11/ ... scence.mp3

Demo # 2 ("My name is KarmaFx" - Genre: Breakbeat?):

all KarmaFX Synth sounds and a mangled drum loop.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/7/11/ ... armafx.mp3

Another demo showing some other sounds of the bank:

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/7/11/ ... k_demo.mp3

Please note that probably you have to tweak the volume of your mixer if you hear some clipping in the sound, anyway I have tried to put the volume of the sounds at the same level, so you have to do this only one time.
If the CPU power needed goes high, lower the polyphony!
I quoted my old post in the topic Flos Bank, does it suffice or you need more? :)

Hi Kasper, I've made a small video to show a very basic introduction to envelopes, but I will go on further with all the modulation capabilities.

Sorry, flos, I've moved our posts here, since we were spamming MadG's thread :D

Extremely cool with the video ! 8)
Did you use the internal video recording feature or an external one?

Also, can I add this to the tutorial section I'm making (with credit to you of course) ?

Oh yes, you have done the right thing! Sorry MadGonzo. 8)
The video is recorded with Wink (freeware), I have tried Camstudio but it's a bit limited and eats too much cpu! Is there a native video recorder in KarmaFX or you were referring to some Windows application? :D
If you want I can give you the link to the video file...
Ah, yes, post it in your tutorial section if you find it useful. Now I go to record a new lesson. ;)

Sure please post the link. I'm curious. What video format do you use? flv?

But yes, I did some experiments with video recording. You can try it out.
Simply hold Shift and Ctrl and right click on the workspace in the synth.
Then choose "Record AVI...". There are different resolution options, and it also records the produced sound, but please remember that this is work in progress, so there might still be issues.

I'm curious to what the cpu usage is compared to that "wink" you mention.

Thanks.

Hi Flos.

I've added your movies to the stuff page. It is still work in progress, but the idea is that it should contain all kinds of downloadable stuff, patch banks, skins and of course tutorials.

You can find it here: http://karmafx.net/stuff/

Can wink record sound too? I'm curious as I think tuts like these would work even better with sound. And did you try out the record feature yet?

Yep! Nice page Kasper! I tried to record also sound in wink, but it doesn't record maybe because my audio card doesn't support the full-duplex feature... :?
I have tried your feature but it gave AVI screen format error if I choose a codec, if I use the uncompressed frames option it works, that mouse tracking feature is very interesting (!!!), if there could be the option to record a fixed window of preference it would be gold, but maybe this could create problem with resources usage, recording the full workspace cpu goes quite high (at least 50-60% of my P4) so its not usable at the moment (the recorded audio is scattered and the file size is huge...). I will try to make a video with the sliding window, i think it will be cool. 8)

hehe :D well, it's still work in progress...Is it the framerate or the audio that is speedy gonzales ?

You should definetly use a different codec, though... "uncompressed" will just kill your computer slowly ;-)

I have gotten ok results by using huffyuv and then converting the resulting avi to flv format, but it is a little extra work than just recording directly to flv.

Fixing the window to say 800x600, top left would be dead easy.

The audio is ok, it's the frame rate that is fast. I have seen that in a couple of mins I get nearly a 1 GB video, so I have to fight against time when I record, I'll try huffmann codec as you suggest, then converting is not a problem for me, i could leave it as is if it's not too much big... yes, i'd love a 800x600 window, maybe let the user choose the top left angle...
