High-end distortion in the reverb

Post by Argitoth »

Hey Mr. Kasper, I really like the reverb in KarmaFX, but I find myself always turning it off and using external reverb like my RaySpace, AAR, and AriesVerb. The reason is because I hear high-end distortion which is a common "bug" in new reverbs. RaySpace had a very apparent distortion which I reported to QuikQuak. They were able to lessen the distortion a great deal which improved things a lot.

What do you think?

does the high end distortion go away when you run at a higher frequency ? say 96kHz?

I'll go and test it as soon as I have time. I'll post audio demos and more info.

KarmaFX reverb, even though it exhibits the usual "ringing" artifacts that even "high end" software reverbs do, is one of the best software effects for short reverbs, early reflections etc, and is much more capable than ArtsAcoustic's reverb and many others in that regard.
Here's some info on the problem, a quote from KVRaudio: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 71#2965471

Just to put the problem a little more into perspective. I haven't had time to do any serious testing yet. Soon!

The reverb has undergone some changes since this was posted.
I know it's not a bug, but if your have the same ringing in the KarmaFX Reverb vst, chances are they are there in the synth too...But please check it out...
