i'm not sure if this is possible and i just missed it.. but is there a way?

no...sorry, it is not directly possible.
but you can e.g. route a module through and amp and module XXX
and then map the "out" parameter of both modules to the control panel.
In that case you can turn the volume of the amp module down and module XXX up, and acheive a similar effect as turning module XXX on using automation.
